History of Jewish living in the land/ Bangladesh:
In Bengali Language (since ancient Bengali language scripture) numbers of Jewish (Hebrew) words are still available/ still using by mass people in their daily life in corners of the country Bangladesh, it means that the Jewish people ware in touch with the land/ with the nation from the periods when the Bengali Language ware in development stages. But after colonization of the British in the land areas religious aggressions begins in the lands and the Jewish peoples starts leaving from the lands.
In the Dhaka City (capital of Bangladesh) a place name is 'WISE GHAT ROAD'; the word GHAT is driven from the word "Ghetto" (Ghetto means; an urban section of a city serving as compulsory residential quarter for Jews.) and numbers of Hebrew words are still used in the Bangla language - for example; "Abba" the word used in Bangla Language as same meaning used in the Hebrew language, the word; "Abu" use in the Bangla Language as same meaning used in the Hebrew language like this many words and culture of the nation are still similar to the Judaism followers.
All those evidences together indicate that; the Jewish people ware used to live in the land (present Bangladesh) since thousands of years. Therefore we (the Jewish Community of Bangladesh/ the JCB) believe that; the Jewish ware very much familiar with the lands from the time when the Ancient Bengali language ware in developing stage.
Contributions of Jewish People
for development of the nation Bangladesh
since the Liberation War of 1971
Jewish people have played a prominent role on the independent of Bangladesh; it was Retired Lieutenant General JPR Jacob, a Jewish, who gained prominence during his stint as the chief of staff of the Eastern Command; the command helped to defeat the Pakistan Army in East Pakistan during the 1971 Bangladesh Liberation War.
In March 1971, the Pakistan Army launched Operation Searchlight to stem the Bengali nationalist movement. The action ware led to over 10 million refugees entering India, fuelling tensions between India and Pakistan. By the monsoon season Jacob as chief of staff was tasked with drawing the contingency plans in case of a conflict. After consulting with his superior officers, Jacob developed a plan for engaging Pakistan in a "war of movement" in difficult & swampy terrain of East Pakistan.
Earlier the State of Israel was given recognition to Independent Bangladesh at April 01, 1971 and the Israel was one of the earliest nations from the Middle East Countries offers diplomatic relations to Bangladesh in February 07, 1972 that the Israeli government (the State of Israel) offered diplomatic recognition to the newly independent nation which comes on the heels of Bangladesh's quest for recognition since April 01, 1971. However, government of Bangladesh did not accept the offers of the Israel yet. We JCB (Jewish Community of Bangladesh) belief that that; it is a political issues and matter of time only to resolve all wrong understanding/ all misunderstanding among political leaders of the nation (Bangladesh) to build a strong diplomatic relationship with the Israel (the State of Israel) for betterment of every citizens of the nation.
